Climate Change is Erupting: What We Need Are Realistic Ways to Stop Global Warming
Green Living is the ONLY sustainable solution
So, you're looking for ways to stop global warming, because you recognize that climate change is a reality (despite some very vocal and well-funded skeptics).
Believe it or not, there are many simple things you can do to help reverse our climate crisis.
Not all these simple anti-Global Warming solutions are easy, of course, and this site is not about just buying a couple of compact fluorescent light bulbs so you can feel good about the environment.
Please DO buy those light bulbs, though.
The US Environmental Protection Agency says that if every household in the USA would replace just 5 incandescent bulbs with compact fluorescents, it would reduce greenhouse gases as much as taking 8 million cars off the roads.
Plus, every single positive step - no matter how small - will help prevent more global warming.
The COOL Thing To Do
"Living Green" is becoming quite the trendy lifestyle choice (finally!) and is one of the best ways for you to help stop global warming.
When it comes to green living, you can look to the earlier human residents of our world for examples. Indigenous Peoples seem to have (had) a pattern of living with Nature instead of trying to tame it out of existence.
[NEWSFLASH: Nature always prevails!]
Simpler technologies of the past, combined with lower population levels, meant that Earth could always replenish herself; we as humans didn't have a lot of effect. Now, we have learned how to extract much more from the planet than we are giving back, and compounded with increasing population, we are faced with a warmer world.
It's probably not the answer for all of us to go backward to a more primitive time, though some people choose this path, and are loving it.
But should we always strive for more, and bigger, and faster, and shinier(?), simply because we have the technological and financial ability to do it?
What about taking the middle road? Living more simply, acquiring less STUFF, making conscious decisions?
We have made many technological advances that actually allow us to do more with less. Let's put those ideas into action!
Here are some suggestions you've probably heard before, but they bear repeating:
Conserve resources to make sure there is enough for everyone, including future generations
Build or remodel your home using sustainable building materials and green home design
Plant a tree
Volunteer in local clean-up efforts
Purchase (or make your own) and use non-toxic products
Create Global Cooling
